EXCHANGE OF VISIT BY TRIBALS |
| |
| The exchange of visit by tribals scheme was introduced by Government of India in 2001-02 to encourage and to enable S.T. people who generally live in isolation visits other parts of the country for a period of 10 days so that they get exposure to more developed areas of the country. |

| Guidelines on exchange of visit by Tribals:- |
| |

The tribal team/group will consist of not more than 10 tribals, excluding the Liasison officer of the Team. |

The number of days for the tour/visit will be restricted to 10 days, excluding journey days |

The Nodal Officer of the State Government will constitute the team, to accompany the individuals/group/team of tribals, depending upon the number of tribal persons finally selected for the purpose of exchange of visit. |

The team will be headed by an official of an appropriate rank nominated by the Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad. The overall responsibility of Team will rest with the Official so nominated to accompany the team/group. |

All expenses for travel, etc. in respect of the official who is nominated as Head of the tribal team will be borne by the Office/Establishment from which the official draws his salary/pay. |

The programme of Exchange of Visits by Tribal will be organized by the Managing Director, A.P., Scheduled Tribes Co-operative Finance Corpn. Ltd., Telugu Samkshema Bhawan, Masab Tank, Hyderabad - 500 028, with the prior approval of the secretary, Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad and will organize the programme in such way that the visiting groups/teams are able to exchange their experiences with each other in the areas, such as, Cultural, Sports, Agricultural and Allied Activities/Rural Development, Small Scale Cottage Industries, Social Sector Programmes, Human Resource Development, Health including indigenous medicines, any other field relevant to the overall tribal development. |

The tribal beneficiaries selected by the State Government would belong to the economically weaker class and should not have an income above the poverty line for visits. However, for cultural exchange of sports meets, the beneficiaries should be professionally qualified and should not have income above Rs. 5000/- p.m. The group/team will representative to include maximum upto 4 tribal from one community, minimum 3 women and minimum 3 elected members of the local body or panchayats. No member will, however, be entitled to be selected for more than one visit. |

The tribal group/team will be preferably lodged in a Hostel run by Government or Government owned Corporation. The cost on board and lodging will be borne on actual basis as applicable to Government of India Gazetted Officers, subject to the condition that cost for board and lodging will be @ of Rs.100/- per head per day, separately, for a maximum of ten days, excluding journey time/days/ halts. |

Each tribal representative will be provided by the Head of the Team a maximum of Rs. 1000/- to purchase such things, which can be gainfully utilized for adoption of newer technology on return to their own place. The utilization of this amount by the tribal representatives will be in consultation with the Head of Team only. However, individual members would be allowed to pool their money to buy bigger item for use upto a maximum amount of Rs.10,000/- |

Traveling both for onward and return journeys will be by train (admissible: AC III tier), by the shortest route. In case of journey by taxi/bus, expenditure would be restricted to travel by III AC train or actual, whichever is less. |

The expenditure for payment as entry fee, in places of interest, etc, will be restricted to a maximum of Rs.5000/- per team or actual expenditure whichever is less. |

The expenditure on hiring local conveyance, if not provided by the State Government/Government owned Corporation, etc., will be restricted to Rs. 1000/- per day for the team/Group for a total period of 10 days. |
