Please see the references cited above. In the reference second cited, the Govt. of India have set deadline for submission of NGO proposals for clearance. The GOI have also made a provision for a "State Level Committee for Supporting Voluntary Efforts" with Principal Secretary, Tribal Welfare as Chairperson. All the NGO proposals are supposed to be cleared by the above mentioned Committee for the year 2005-06.

Principal Secretary, Tribal Welfare is going to conduct a State Level Committee meeting on 31-08-2005 . The District Collector should get the NGO scheme inspected and send the inspection report in the prescribed format by 17-08-2005 duly getting approved by the District Level Committee.

This time the GOI has put a ceiling on the budget to be released to each State. Therefore only a limited number of proposals would be considered. If the Collectors do not send the reports by 17-08-2005, their proposal will not be considered and only those proposals which are received before 17-08-2005 would be processed for onward transmission to GOI as we have to send proposals to GOI within the time limit prescribed.

It has also been decided to give preference to those NGOs who are working in the agency areas, remote interior areas which are hitherto uncovered by any other scheme.

Therefore you are requested to get the NGOs scheme verified in your District and send proposal in full shape in the prescribed format latest by 17-08-2005 to this office.
