Introduction
The Government of India is implementing Grants in aid scheme to Non - Governmental Organisations working for the welfare of Scheduled Tribes. The scheme of Grants-in-aid to Non-Governmental Organisations was started in 1953-54.
The prime object of the scheme is to provide for an overall improvement and development of the Scheduled Tribes through voluntary efforts working in the fields of education, health & sanitation, environment in addition to need based socio-economic upliftment efforts and other relevant activities deemed appropriate and of direct benefit to the target group.
