| Major Recommendations: |
| » |
Tribal farmers should be enlightened in modern techniques like use of HYV seeds, improved means of crop protection, crop rotation, creating adequate irrigation facilities etc. to enable them to increase agricultural production and to ensure better yields. |
| » |
M.I. works like lift irrigation schemes, creation and restoration of irrigation works like tanks, ponds, reservoirs, wells etc. have to be made available to the tribal farmers. |
| » |
Milch animals or bullocks, sheep, goat and poultry units and male cross breed calves should be supplied to the tribal beneficiaries with their consent besides imparting necessary training. It is also essential to setup milk collection centers and chilling plants and provision of veterinary services. |
| » |
Establishment of large number of educational Institutions in tribal areas besides ensuring supply of various incentives to tribal children for their educational development. Other steps like appointing necessary trained teachers, orientation towards tribal standards, adequate teaching equipment will enhance the quality of education among tribal children. |
| » |
Encouraging tribals towards self employment for undertaking various activities like rope making, leaf, basket and mat weaving, nawar making, sericulture, bee keeping, bamboo manufacturing, beedi making, carpentry, toy making etc. by imparting adequate technical training followed by financial assistance, storage and marketing facilities etc. |
| » |
Establishing hospitals without providing necessary equipment like hospital beds medicines, X ray machines etc. as well as without qualified medical personnel is of no use. Hence, all the facilities should be provided. Further, the medicines keeping with the teachers are not catering to the needs of the people. |
| » |
The credit-cum-cooperative societies should be made more popular to wean the tribals away from the exploitation of private money lenders. |
