The TCR&TI has been conducting basic studies to identify the problems and felt needs of the tribal groups by conducting Socio-economic bench mark surveys in the tribal areas and monographic studies on various tribal groups so as to identify the socio-cultural and economic barriers for implementation of various development programmes. It is also conducting studies to suit the research needs of Tribal Welfare Department and providing policy inputs for the department for evolving suitable strategies for the development of Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Areas in the state.
